Submit an Adoption Form Read our Adoption Requirements and Shopping List before applying. Interview Call We'll schedule a quick call to discuss guinea pig care and cage setup. Pick Up Your Guinea Pig Once approved, we’ll coordinate a time for pickup. Do I need a new form if I’ve adopted before? If you adopted from us in the past post 8/31/24, you do not need to fill out a new adoption. Just reach out to us through the contact page. How do I find a buddy for my single guinea pig? Choose one or more guinea pigs from our list you’d like to try bonding with. Submit the adoption form. After the interview, bring your guinea pig to meet their potential friend(s) at the rescue or foster home. What if bonding doesn’t go well? Didn’t find a match? We can schedule another bonding session once more guinea pigs are available. Changed your mind? That’s okay! Let us know, and we can help you find a better fit. Bond fell apart at home? It’s normal to see chasing, rumbling, and light nipping for the first 1–2 weeks. But if there's serious aggression, injuries, or refusal to eat, separate them and contact us. We can try again with another guinea pig. How many guinea pigs can live together? Females can live in groups, as long as the cage meets size requirements (see next question for requirements). One “neutered” male can live with several females (“herd”). Multiple males can live together so long as they get along. Minimum cage sizes (C&C cages preferred): 2 pigs: 2X4 C&C (10.5 sq ft) Add 1 grid for each additional pig. You can purchase a cage from Tater Pets or Critter Colony Club or directly from us. What should I bring when picking up my guinea pig? One carrier per guinea pig (preferably hard-sided) If you’re doing a bonding visit, bring your own guinea pig(s) Include fleece/bedding + hay in the carrier Hot day? Bring a frozen water bottle in a sock to keep them cool Sick guinea pigs must reschedule bonding visits. We do a health check before bonding begins. DONATIONS + VOLUNTEERING How can I donate? Donate directly All donations go to the care of the guinea pigs — food, hay, bedding, vet care, etc. Can I donate supplies? Yes! We accept new or gently-used items. Contact us, and we will arrange a time for the drop off Can I volunteer? Absolutely! We always need help. Submit an application and we'll set up a time to talk about opportunities.
